First Fridays Offers Local Flair

This month’s First Fridays events on Sept. 1 will include multiple art exhibitions, a salsa party and book signings with live music in and around downtown Lynchburg.

First Fridays is a monthly assembly of events that are organized to encourage the public to spend their evening around the city, enjoying the local culture.

Three Lynchburg College students will join students from Sweet Briar College and Randolph College to read their writing at the Collective Poetry and Prose Reading by College Student Writers on Friday, April 14 at 7 p.m. at Riverviews Artspace.

The Lynchburg Diversity Center is a nonprofit organization that is a resource for the LGBTQ+ community, including college students, in Lynchburg. The center organizes events, exhibits and projects for the community. The group also provides resources for any LGBTQ+ people who may need them.
